Coljuegos Blocks 10,000 Unlicensed Online Gambling Websites and Social Media Accounts in Colombia
In a recent announcement, Colombia’s gambling regulator, Coljuegos, revealed that it has taken action against a massive 10,000 unlicensed gambling websites and social media accounts that have been promoting illegal games of chance. This move comes as part of the authority’s ongoing efforts to crack down on offshore entities and illicit activities in the online gambling sector.
Cracking Down on Illegal Gambling Entities
Coljuegos reported that the blocked entities included not only online casinos but also digital bingo halls, unregulated sportsbooks, and social media profiles that were offering raffles, promotions, and other luck-based games. The regulator is currently pursuing 35 administrative sanctioning processes against illegal gambling promoters, including influencers and online organizations engaging in unauthorized activities across social media platforms.
As part of its enforcement measures, Coljuegos collaborated with the Cybernetic Police Center and the Meta company to block 289 social media profiles on platforms like Facebook and Instagram. These profiles were found to be in violation of Colombian regulations by conducting raffles, bingo games, and promoting illegal online casinos.

Coljuegos emphasized that the unauthorized operation of games of chance is considered a crime under Article 312 of Colombia’s criminal code, with violators facing fines of up to 100 times the legal monthly minimal wage in the country. The regulator reiterated that only licensed companies are permitted to provide online gaming services in Colombia, with operators required to obtain a license and pay an annual fee to Coljuegos.
