Entain Plc Announces Unexpected Changes to Senior Leadership Team
Entain Plc, the global sports betting and gaming group, and a FTSE100 company, recently made headlines with unexpected changes to its senior-level team. The company confirmed that Gavin Isaacs, who was appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in September 2024, is stepping down from his role, leading to the search for a new CEO.
Appointment of Gavin Isaacs as CEO
In July, Entain announced the appointment of Gavin Isaacs as its new CEO. Isaacs brought with him a wealth of experience in the gaming and betting industry, having held senior-level positions in companies like DraftKings, Scientific Games, Aristocrat Technologies, and Bally Technologies.
Isaacs took over the CEO role from Jette Nygaard-Andersen, who left the company in December 2023. Stella David, the current non-executive chair at Entain, served as the interim CEO until Isaacs officially assumed the position.
Stella David Returns as Interim CEO
With Isaacs’ sudden departure, Stella David will once again step in as the interim CEO. Entain confirmed that David will lead the company until a permanent replacement for the CEO position is found. In a statement, Entain expressed gratitude to Isaacs for his contributions and leadership during his tenure.
According to Entain, the decision for Isaacs to step down was made by mutual agreement, and David will resume her role as both the non-executive chair and interim CEO.
Entain Focuses on Performance and Outlook for 2025
Despite facing market volatility that led to a drop in stock value, Entain and its subsidiary, BetMGM, remain optimistic about their performance. The company reaffirmed its 2024 guidance and highlighted the progress made in achieving strategic priorities.

Pierre Bouchut, the current senior independent director, will take on the role of non-executive chair on an interim basis. Bouchut will hold this position until a permanent CEO is appointed, and Stella David returns to her non-executive chair role.
