The company aimed to utilize the top three floors of the Saks Fifth Avenue building, converting them into a spacious casino spanning around 200,000 square feet. However, they faced opposition from local community boards and challenges related to the historical preservation of the building.
Recent reports indicate that Hudson’s Bay has withdrawn from the competition for the coveted casino licenses. A spokesperson for the company, Erin Celentano, confirmed that they are no longer pursuing a gaming license in downstate New York due to shifting strategic priorities.
